FRESH START HISTORY
Fresh Start was founded in 2004 by Garry B. Coston in Sarasota, Florida. The Agency initially operated as an information and referral agency, referring needy and underprivileged individuals to the local Sarasota County social service resources, and later expanded to include Manatee County. Initially named "Fresh Start Information and Referral Services," once direct case services were initiated and provided to the public, in 2006 Fresh Start's name was changed to "Fresh Start Social Service Agency." In late 2006, the name was again changed to "Fresh Start Social Service Agency Incorporated (Inc.)" to indicate FRESH START's acquired corporate or corporated status. Trudging towards it's 6th anniversy in 2010, Fresh Start, which is a Godly, faith based social service agency, continues its tradition of helping all who are in need regardless of demographics or social status or standing. We thank Almighty God for continuing to sustain us, uphold us, and providing our every need in helping the numerous homeless, underprivileged, and disadvantaged individuals in Manasota, the State of Florida, and the good old USofA! -Garry B. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT FRESH START SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY
Our Organization/Agency motto is, “Helping the Needy and Underprivileged.” Our sub-motto is “Our Business is Helping the Needy and Underprivileged.” That being said, our motto relates well to our mission and goals statement which is derived from the Holy Bible. Fresh Start Social Service Agency will repeatedly and consistently practice our motto, and live up to our motto and our mission and goals statement. All of this equates to the ultimate goal of providing superb social, information and referral, and other vital direct case services to needy and underprivileged individuals – and no one will be turned away. The aim is to return unfortunate individuals back into being productive members of society, and back into the mainstream of society with their self esteem, dignity, pride, and confidence returned to them. We realize that hallmark, superior client and customer service, coupled with professional, well-trained staff and employees are vital keys to the success of any business or social service agency. We will also add that personable touch within our Agency relative to our clients and customers which is so vital but missing in our modern society. We aim to fuse and complement all of these entities into one, formulating a professional, well-organized and totally client and customer service oriented social service agency catering first and foremost to the needs of the client, and providing a permanent solution to problems as a result of needs assessment, information gathering, and proper referral selection.
